It is with sadness that we announce the
peaceful passing of Edmund "Ted" Harry
Hicks, age 94, of Sackville. Ted passed away
at his home on Friday, October 2, 2015.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the
late Harris and Sarah (Ibbitson) Hicks.
Ted was a former postal clerk with 30
years service with Canada Post. A veteran of WW II he served
with the Canadian Army (Royal Canadian Dragoons) in Italy and North
West Europe. He was a life Member of the Royal Canadian Dragoons
Assoc. and a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian
Legion.
Survived by his wife Betty (Sefton),
Sackville; children, Trevor (Susanne), Sackville, and Linda (Richard)
Piper, Sackville, Leona (Colin) Penley, Frosty Hollow and
David (Fern), Brookdale, NS; 9 grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren; sister Doris Carter, Sackville, several nieces and
nephews.
Predeceased by sisters, Marjorie, Leona
and Myrtle.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB
(506-364-1300). In keeping with Ted's wishes, cremation has
taken place. A Royal Canadian Legion service followed by a
graveside committal service will take place at the Sackville Cemetery
on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 2 pm, Rev. Dr. Ranall Ingalls
officiating.
